3Bridge Records proudly presents the first release of 2016 from producer Eric Shans, the ”Gone Away EP”. It showcases his penchant for rich infectious hooks and sounds, as well as affection for emotive music.
Title track ‘Gone Away’ is replete with heavy symphonic elements, guitar, and synth-pop type vocals carried over catchy bass lines and finely layered percussion. Melancholic lyrics complete the tune, but a sense of hope also permeates. ‘Who Will Save Us’ takes a similar approach but with a even more mountainous soundtrack feel with expansive harmonized vocals and pads giving it lots of depth and dimension. And ‘Red Stars Burst’ closes out the EP with beautiful strings, sparkling atmospherics, and gentle passages to wind everything down.
Uplifting and hopeful, and at the same time mournful and reflective, this EP lets us know that life is full of moments where we need to remind ourselves that we’re human.
