3Bridge Records is very excited to welcome Begoña to the label with the release of her dynamic ‘Kaleidoscope EP’. Begoña is one half of 3Bridge mainstays and well-known NYC DJ and production duo Sleepy & Boo. ‘Kaleidoscope’ marks her first solo foray into the dance floor, featuring three tracks of melodic and lush atmospheres paired with hypnotic late-night grooves. She has already established herself as a producer on our sister label 3Bridge Elements, with two stellar chillout and downtempo EPs – both were met with critical acclaim and have been among the label’s best selling releases.

‘Mystic Rapture’ begins the EP on an uplifting and melodic note, and right away we’re treated to some truly inspiring sounds. This track is built around a beautiful chord progression which continually evolves throughout the journey. The energy builds and releases throughout, echoing a classic progressive style mixed with the dreamier soundscapes that Begoña is known for. This one is destined for some memorable dance floor moments.

Up next is ‘Prism’, which has been receiving a tremendous response in Begoña’s Sleepy & Boo DJ sets over the last few months. This track goes deep into a dub direction, mixing techy percussive grooves with heavy piano stabs, and a half-time rhythm that adds a refreshing element to the vibe. On top of it all is a haunting piano melody that really resonates in the mix. ‘Prism’ is a perfect example of the focus on this whole Kaleidoscope EP – a mix of different styles and sounds to represent the many colors on the underground spectrum.

Closing things out is ‘That Which Is Seen’ which takes a more drum-heavy, percussive focus before giving way to cascading arpeggios and melancholy minor progressions – the kind of deep and groovy afterhours track that induces late-night bliss and thoughtful contemplation. You can clearly hear the evolution from Begoña’s chillout productions to her dance floor direction with this solid closing track.

We’re very happy to have Begoña releasing her solo work on 3Bridge Records, and we’re eager to see what new sounds she continues to pursue.
