Futureworlder is back on 3Bridge in 2018 with his newest offering, the ‘Snow Dream’ EP. It makes sense that the release is right of the middle of the winter on the east coast which has been wrought with snow and cold. That said, there are plenty of warm, bright melodies in this EP that will make you wish you were on an apex somewhere overlooking a beautiful landscape of sugary snow capped mountains.

The title track coasts along with Futureworlder’s trademark percussion style; racing 16th notes, a fat kick drum, and reverb heavy claps serve as the drivers while huge analog pads create dramatic high notes. Immerse yourself in this one, you’ll picture yourself skiing down a breezy slope, while pine trees and cozy cabins pass by you. Eric’s remix of it takes the melodic elements and adds a few different arpeggios, a house-influenced bass line, and even more effected layers to tie it all together.

‘An Open Window’ takes a similar approach to ‘Snow Dream’ but dials down the energy just a tad to make this more of a reflective track. Shimmering symphonic chords wash over the groovy percussive work outs and bass, giving this a truly ambient techno feel. And ‘Empathy’ goes deeper into the tech influenced music you can tell Brian truly has affection for. Heavy kick drums, a distant snare, and flashes of 90s electronica are the main sound players here all while still latching on to the melodic theme that this EP has throughout.

Close your eyes and drift into a ‘Snow Dream’ with this EP.
