For the start of 2017, we welcome Futureworlder ( aka Brian Traister ) to the label. Brian has been producing music for quite some time now and it’s all pretty brilliant if we do say so ourselves. Appropriately titled lead track ‘Sunspots’ is 7+ minutes of melodically rapturous techno. Cinematic in its approach yet danceable, deep lush pads build and layer over each other as if you were stacking them on top of one another to climb to the heavens. A silky thick bass, punchy kick, and sharp hi-hats with 16th notes grounding the patterns; all resulting in a hypnotic beat driven haze. ‘Other Methods’ takes a bit of a different angle with a Giorgio Moroder-esque lead and dubbed out delayed chords. A simple melody comes in and out playing over the kick, clap, and sub-bass giving it a refined sound. ‘Spectrum Analysis’ plays like ‘Sunspots’ cloudier sibling, but it’s no less euphoric with its sweeping tsunami like waves of beauty washing over the listener. And ‘Things Imminent’ is a meditative track of sorts, making us reflect on the many things this EP makes you feel. A definite throwback and a to classic ambient music both in its sound design and form – it’s a perfect closer. Get closer to the sun and bliss out with Futureworlder’s debut EP on 3Bridge.
