Deep Woods kicks off the new year with his latest release, “Take Me Higher”. Taking cues from 90s house music and the current deep sounds of today, he’s produced a dance floor workout which is guaranteed to get people’s heads bobbing and feet moving. Both retro and futuristic while being funky, bumping, and soulful, this one goes back to roots of the Deep Woods sound. Detroit staple Rick Wade’s remix takes the track even further into classic house territory and produces something that would fit in any deep house DJ’s crate. It especially harkens back to the days of legendary parties in New York, like Shelter and 718 Sessions where a track dropped like this would have people dancing and singing like there was no tomorrow. Soft emotive pads cascade over a repeated vocal phrase, which is all driven by Roland style percussion and a chunky bass line. The result is a tremendous rework.
