Eric Shans starts the new year off with a 3 song EP that showcases his diverse styles as a producer. Always trying to push the envelope, his productions are rarely predictable, however they all have a sound that pays homage to many different electronic genres. We present to you the “World Fell Down” EP. The title track is a shining example of his deeper musical visions- slow and steady house beats, beautiful melodies, symphonic strings, and a warm bass surround the listener while ethereal vocals get delivered from the heavens. The result is a completely playable, yet original composition where the emotion shines through. “Patterns” goes for a bit of a different sound, and it’s higher energy and more immediate. The result is a fun tech house romp, with bouncing analog bass lines, old school house hits, science fiction type samples, and high throttled percussion that will fill any dance floor. “All End Now” is the most electronic pop driven song on the EP, and it’s got influences of 80s new wave dance music with shimmering pads, thick low end, and yearning vocals with catchy melodies. Lyrically on the darker side, but musically bright and hopeful, it’s the perfect paradox of a track that will win everyone over.
