3Bridge Records head honcho Eric Shans returns to the label release roster with his new EP ‘Follow the Signs’, a 3 tracker which runs the gamut of styles all while retaining the melodic, groovy tones he’s known for.
The title track is a great example of a classic yet updated deep house sound replete with 80s analog bass lines, smooth distant pads, and big drums. This will certainly keep a dance floor moving. ‘Space or Matter’ comes next and it takes a bit of a different direction with squelchy acid, energetic percussion, grand melodies, and fun spoken word samples. ‘At Last’ closes things out and takes Eric’s bittersweet, melancholy sound and ups the ante with beautifully structured chord progressions, expansive strings, soft low end, and ethereal yearning vocals.
